I was starting to forget what an actually good movie looked like for a moment there. An unforgettable film with every emotion you can think of, topped off with insane, over-the-top gore. Beauty, irony, hope, dread, horror, laughter, insanity and utter heroism are portrayed in this film in a way only James Gunn could. This film is hands-down one of the best superhero films I have ever seen - it almost seems as if Marvel has been going down a hole of generic stories recently, and DC has been focusing more on making an actual impact. It's arguable if they're succeeding or not - they certainly did with this film, but can't say the same with WW84 - but I hope they do. If this film goes to show anything from DC's upcoming slate, I'm insanely excited.
