A perfectly made film that reinforces the fact that human brain is capable of a sky of creative ideas. Who could have thought that the messaging and video calling devices that we all are hooked too currently can be utilised in this way to churn out a thriller love story. What a superb writing and smart editing!!! Never ever for a moment would one feel like blinking also- yes, it's that gripping. The actors Roshan Mathew and Fahadh Fasil are as usual brilliant and so is the girl Darshana. A gripping tale that uses technology so well that at moments, you may forget the wall between real and virtual. Don't miss this one....

Beautiful show. It had an American flair with teenage romance, dating incidents, academic future, and friendship sagas, but had the Indianness intact which made it an enjoyable show. Many shows with this kind of subject have been made and will be made in future and this one stands out really well. Looking forward to the next season. Apart from the story, the casting was done perfectly. Each and every character brought their best on screen. P.S. - It was an amazing treat to the eyes to see Poorna on screen again.

To be honest, our society needs more movies like Bala. Being Pretentious is a flaw and self-acceptance is a virtue. This movie beautifully celebrates self-confidence and practicality. Then there's people like Nikita (Bhumi Pednekar) - who challenges our age-old fables and carries vast confidence in spite of being reminded of her color in every stage of her life. Pari comes as a breath of fresh air and I am too impressed by Yami. Given better roles, this girl will prove her true mettle. A tiktok star and budding model, she carries her melodrama in her purse always. But Inspite of saying that she is superficial she didn't forget to notice that her husband cannot accept himself so how can she accept him? That was nicely punched for me. Saurabh Shukla Seema Pahwa and Javed Jafri were brilliant as usual. And our common man with flaws Ayushmann- what a terrific performance he has given once again. That moment when he complains to his dad that his baldness is due to him is fabulous. This man is charming, pretentious, hypocrite, brat, and vulnerable, and how amazingly he portrays them. But I didn't like Bhumis performance much because I was constantly disturbed by her artificial color. Her dark makeup was not so good . Couldn't they pick up someone darker to play that role?

Badla is a plain copy of the masterclass Spanish movie named The Invisible Guest that left me jaw-dropped. Other than role reversal of the prime characters played by Mr. Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, the only change was that the mother of the "missing young boy" was playing the role of spy here (which in the original was done by the dad). I have tremendous respect for Sujoy Ghosh who is a terrific screenplay writer for thrillers and mysteries. So, while he thought to adapt a loved movie, he could have brought more changes by changing the location from Paris & Glasgow to India - that ways there could have been some newness to the plot. As I knew the story already, I was more interested in other details of the movie for sure. 1. The poster of 12 Angry Men at the place of Rani Kaur - that played a motif in proving that this film deals with an unpopular truth; 2. Rani and her Husband's pictures from drama days - proves that they are good actors and they have the confidence that they can pull of characters which they did in the later part of the movie; 3. the car number plate of Naina- N4INA - a sleazy approach to show the prowess of the business magnet. The story is super-awesome but this time the craft of Sujoy Ghosh was not upto the mark. Actually, the charisma of Kahaani and its details are beyond excellence and therefore he has work really hard to break that benchmark too. As cinelovers we expect more from this talented director. There's no one like Amitabh Bachchan and he proves that again n again. The prime role went to Taapsee and the movie was released on Women's Day to glorify the changing role of women in Bollywood - good marketing strategy but that's about it. Taapsee is like the poster girl of challenging outrageous women characters in Bollywood and I truly love her but all through the movie, I never felt that Naina is an ambitious, ruthless, and nonplussed woman. That aggression and confident eyes were missing. In Sujoy Ghosh's world, we know that the lead actor who is least suspected becomes the traitor for seeking truth or doing good and this movie also goes to that direction. But a Vidya or Radhika Apte would have fit the role better. I go with a generous 3/5.

Ranveer Singh has given his career best performance and equally enigmatic was Siddhant Chaturvedi. Alia Bhatt shines again becoming Safeena - someone you would not like at the first go but secretly applaud her confidence. From Chauvinism to Patriarchy, Gap of Rich & Poor, Dreams vs Reality, Guts vs Destiny, from unconventional habits to hypocrisy, from Rags to Riches - this movie encircles many topics beautifully, never letting you feel choked!!! A stunning take of a boy who propels himself to his dreams. Rarely we have seen inspirational stories that touches so many layers. Gully Boy is no less than a biopic of Mumbai. 4.75/5 movie.

I don't know it's a propaganda movie or not. But surely it's a simple and well folded biography. All the phases of Thackeray have been captured well. The unpretentious and documentary style of story telling may not be liked by all. But yes it will work for those who wants to listen to a story of a revolutionary minds with patience. Nawazuddin as usual raised his bar again. Will go for 3.5/5 for this one. I would have loved it more if it was presented in a web series format.

What A Commendable Movie !!! I don't know about the truth which director directed it more, who brought what to the screens, who made changes and why - but Manikarnika is truly a well made film. If Kangana Ranaut has directed it 70% then I am waiting for her next. She is a great story-teller. The length of the movie for me was enjoyable, in fact I didn't want to leave the theatre. Every actor gets or waits for a role that becomes the identity of that actor for life. For Kangana, I guess this is it!!! She was born to play Rani of Jhansi. From frame one in that peacock green saree wounding the tiger to the end where she fiercely stops Hugh Rose and burns herself smilingly- she just propelled into the heart n soul of the audience. Yes, there is more of Kangana Ranaut in this movie that overshadowed other actors like Danny Denzongpa, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, etc. But why not? Doesn't a Khan movie does the same with audience, script, and story?! There was Grace, Pride, Beauty, Valor, Fearlessness, Respect, Dignity, & Elegance in every move of her - be it climbing up an elephant, killing British Soldiers, tearing apart the Flag of England, Swearing to protect the land soon after her husband's demise - Kangana simply nailed it. And these praises won't have come from me if there was lack of visual brilliance, background score, drama, dialogues, and the bend of the script. My heart wants to give it a 10/5 but I didn't properly digest 2 facts - one, couple of songs were unnecessary & two, why they didn't use Jisshu Senguptas own voice who played Gangadhar- the king/husband of Manikarnika? Sanjay Suri's voice was so recognizable! P.S. - Rani Ho To Aisi Ho!!!

The superb content had flaw in its narrative which ate up the pace required to engine a mysterious comedy flick. Although Irrfan n Kriti were fabulous in their roles but It's hard to believe that the same director gave us a perfect Delhi Belly.

Quite a predictable plot presented beautifully. Rani breathed heavily into the skin of Naina Mathur which became the heart n soul of this flick. We need more such stories in commercial cinema where people are judged only on merit!
