Well I don't know the legend, but I don't know what to say other than a reckless person finally decided to take his punishment out of honor. But the journey left me empty. All this to do about nothing. I wanted something deeper and more rewarding than the green knight delivered. As a character story there was a true change of self, but the change was to prevent his future shame and failure as a leader and family man without living any sort of life beyond. I felt there should have been a redemption or a way to transform into the man of honor without loosing. A fools choice that led to nowhere. A story about living foolishly for the moment and trusting others for direction led him to ultimately have to make the tough choice, but I feel like I was cheated from seeing him redeem himself and triumph over his situation.

Great subtle adventure... The first time I missed two key conversations because of loud people, which changed the whole movie and left me a bit worried I wasted all that attention. Upon reviewing the parts, the whole movie made sense. Loss, genius, art, and meanings of life and relationships were visited. Truly a great movie, but you cannot miss the subtle parts. I recommend closed caption if other people are in the room
