After reading fiction series like Harry Potter and the Witcher, I was hoping for another good fiction series when I settled upon Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children. Honeslty, my expectations were never met by the first part. It's boring, it unsuccessfully aims to create that thriller-horror effect. The pictures which supposedly give the author the idea for this book are strange and not scary(which they were meant to be).The characters couldn't be any worse than an 8 year old's imagination. A girl who can create fire, a boy who can see monsters(the protag), another girl that might fly away unless tied to the ground and the rest are even worse!
The plot is really slow, 200 pages just to introduce you to the peculiar world which couldn't be any less peculiar (duh) and there are no twists, no suspenseful moments and nothing new in general. Very simple, very clean, very boring plot.
Overall, the book isn't very indulging one and if you are over 12 years of age, there are better fiction novels in the world! Not worth your quality 10 hours.
