Definitely one of the better live action remakes. It was a great cinema going experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the CGI, which looked unpromising in the trailers. It was visually stunning and Halle Bailey was a terrific choice to play Ariel, her voice was incredible, she was defiantly born to play a mermaid. However a few of the issues I had included Sebastian's casting, I thought some of the new songs weren't necessary and didn't live up to the originals written by Howard Ashman. They played it safe with a lot of the costumes and I would have loved to see a little bit more creativity there, but overall these didn't hinder my overall enjoyment of the film too much. Melissa McCarthy was also a pleasant surprise as Ursula. Would definitely go and see a second time!
