Acknowledging that the whole premise requires a willingness to accept the scifi / monster entertainment genre (my favourite thing), I can find no excuse for the melodramatic wooden acting, paper thin dialogue (one or two witty exceptions) and a reliance on CGI and action scenes to carry it through. It was the most disappointing movie I have seen for years.
