The gameplay is just so unrealistic it’s not even hockey. For some reason, it seems EA decided to focus more on graphics and story lines and just totally disregarded the realistic parts of hockey. When defenders block shots, even at junior levels and below, they don’t just come up with the puck clean off their stick. This never ever happens in hockey because of how hard the puck is and how fast it’s going. There is no time for a defender to line the puck up perfectly with his stick to stop the puck from moving right on the spot. If your developers watched a full 60 minutes of hockey that would be obvious. It happens all the time in your game. Madden has similar problems with their gameplay. Overall just a bad year for ea sports. In my opinion they took two steps backwards in the sports gaming world. Maybe 2k can get some of these pro licenses back besides basketball because this is terrible! I also love how Ea sports has ratings of over 8/10 on sites they pay to review their games, and then a whopping 2.9/5 by reviews of actually people. That should tell us consumers something!

I would give this game 0 stars if I could. This game is clearly scripted no matter how good of a player you are. National championship game in Fof I threw 3 passes on the run all over thrown, quit, restarted threw 3 from the pocket, all atrociously inaccurate. Are you trying to create a video game or some sort of story? The receivers refuse to catch the ball, or don’t run with the ball. On a slant route your receiver will actually stop turn back around and slowly run back into the defender that was chasing them. If that’s not bad enough, on 50/50 balls they just hit the ball up in the air like they are setting a volleyball! DBs will just stand there and watch an easy interception go for a TD without moving a muscle. It doesn’t appear this game was ever tested before it was released it was that bad. I thought madden 17 was better. The gameplay is so choppy and unrealistic. I feel like I’m playing an old arcade game inside a bar. They also have it snowing in Arlington TX. That right there should demonstrate the level of common sense these game developers have. This will be the last EA game I ever purchase because fifa and nhl have the same problems. How unfortunate for a company with all these resources to be raising the price of their game knowing the gameplay is worse than the technology they possessed 10 years ago. Just a bunch of penny-pinchers, who clearly do not care about the customer. Maybe consult with some people who have played football at some point in real-life before you release your next one. Theres stuff that happens in your game that would make players never see a highschool jv football field again. Cuz they won’t let you put out this garbage and call it football. I love how the reviews on here have it at 3.1 and the sites EA pays to review them are all over 8. Whoever put their name on this video game should never seek employment in this industry again. Or at least not for sports games. Players are out there defying the laws of physics.
