Wait a second.. a 1 star review with FAIR CRITIQUE other than hero light complaints and Sony hatred? Let’s begin. Basically the same as the first game. No real innovation and I’ll explain why. -Areas are all pretty much the same. The tropical jungle/beach that was promoted heavily in 2021 was very small. The rest of the games biomes are identical to the first, so it feels like that new area could’ve been a DLC in 2018/2019 after Frozen Wilds. -Towns overrated. They were able to cramp up more characters on the screen to make the areas seem more “lively” and “realistic” but again 90% of the people you come across don’t serve a purpose at all. - Combat has improved slightly but still suffers from these boring skill trees that plague games. I’m tired of having this fake “choice” in the route I want to play when I’m obviously going to complete the tree later on. Should’ve been condensed into one smaller skill tree. I feel like the combat we got in this game is what we deserved in the first. I feel like it’s just too late to be interested in this series, taking 5 years to actually have acceptable melee combat. - Swimming is nice but it’s very slow and after your first underwater experience (beautiful and colorful might I add), you’ll be tired of it instantly. It’s not fun but it’s a nice addition to be completely fair. - Story is much weaker than the first and if you ever had a heart for Aloy it was her discovering her true purpose and figuring out if and who her mother was. This story with an established Aloy is much less heartfelt and a drag to say the least. All in all, I commend them for listening to their fans and improving the weak spots of the last game. They’re constantly patching the game (1.06 has recently been put out) and making sure the bugs aren’t a factor so kudos to the team but this game is a snooze fest and a half. Another overly cinematic game that’s poorly written, forcing PlayStation owners to think they have an edge in this illusory console war by having “top of the line exclusives”. If you’re looking for a better new game to play I recommend Elden Ring. If you’re solely looking for a better PlayStation game to play, I’d say wait for the new IP’s Ghostwire Tokyo or Forspoken and see how they turn out

Overrated and boring. Saw this one game of the year and was able to try this on PS5 for free. Doesn’t hold a candle to half of the games in the collection. If you want a better experience play Infamous Second Son
