The best teaming since 'The odd couple'.
This - much deeper than it first appears- series took me from tears to belly laughs in seconds. It runs you through a gamut of emotions as it deals with love, bereavement, friendship and getting old with all it's assosciated failings. Most of all it deals with the long and loving friendship of two older guys, as close as brothers, who, whilst carrying each other through the bad and sad, continue to torment the hell out of each other for a kind of humorous fix.
Douglas and Arkin almost bounce off each other with the kind of humour that only Jewish people are able to deliver. In
my mind a brilliantly funny series with the sad threads of inevitable old age woven carefully through it. I loved it.
