I started reading that book at the feet of the Salisbury Cathedral and immediately travelled in time into medieval England… the magic of that moment stayed with me through out the whole time of reading, until the final dot.
The motives hidden behind the choices and actions of the main characters might be at times hard to comprehend but hey! It’s not fair to judge medieval people and their life from the modern human’s perspective! The author made an extensive research and brought medieval folks and their customs to life! Yes, they were not snowflakes like today, meaning modern snowflakes might not like/understand the characters.
The descriptive bits were at times extensive but every word of it is a great source of wisdom of medieval history that you can just be grateful for, for it is served in a such a skilful way.
