I neither read the books nor did I play any of the games, but I enjoyed the show. I recommend that after a few episodes you look into videos or blogs that explain the plot and timeline. Once I spent 15 minutes doing research, everything became much more clear and enjoyable. I dropped a star because I wanted more fight scenes with Geralt and the timeline could be confusing at times.
