With each episode of Bamay, drone technology is not treated as a gimmick, but rather as a means of giving us the perspective of a slow flying bird or a low drifting cloud... looking down on life as it is. Bamay is also a musical experience. Sensitively selected soundtracks enhance each shot with emotional gravitas. Crafting together the expert drone footage and the well-chosen musical accompaniment, the editor has a spiritual sense of timing - takes prolonged over several minutes, like a lover who can't remove his eyes from his beloved. Here we have a new televisual art form worthy of international attention and much local celebration.
