great show wonderful casting very good acting fair plot fantastic believable characters with imaginative story arks its Lord of the flies via piped piper twist and has the potential to go 5 plus seasons if the issues all shows have are ironed out give it a 7.5/10 with potential to go higher and its nice theirs no nudity sex as a instrument to hook viewers so a major plus its character driven stories with very good definitions what dims it a little is a weird never fully explained alternative similar town different reality gambit , nobody season 1 appears to know the town they live in is not the same one they grew up in, other than a written warning tagged onto wall of the school brick building no longer being there , rest of them living in houses they think they grew up in all their clothes still in draws wardrobes same cars in driveways door keys working etc second season character driven stories i expect will be as good as first season so plenty twists turns and leadership of the town a central focus and yes the psychopath finally come to power , no doubt few new stories brought to light from many talented people left however in my opinion other shows with sort similar vein like under the dome writers or the 100 to name a few realized the town environment itself was as much part of the survival story as the people and their issues( although under the dome took theirs to extremes which in time killed the show ) the 100 show go to great lengths explaining current environment the group find them selves in, each season being different , space ark , on the ground grounders war , grounder queen new prime-fire coming the bunker and now new planets etc what would be easier to shallow was if the town was moved to new reality and parents returned to find jungle growing where town once stood , likewise back in time thus balancing out the astronomy issues of no satelights and movement in stars in relation to earth thus town itself needs to be a greater part of the show and its physical limitations elaborated and tested under fire, otherwise the second season will begin to lose viewer support if the second central feature the town itself left poorly or not or partly explained and setting up season 2 for lower ratings and possible early cancellation ( we all know of many shows that just needed one more season to bring it to greatness that List is longer than success stories ) screen writing friend of mine suggested a storm thus water /sewage system overflows, fresh water coming from where , sewage going where?? answered possibly forest fire or tornado or something big that puts town environment back into focus , theirs only so much you can push using characters on hand and current plot and a unexplained alternative town reality she suggested it needs a dramatic turn early season 2 to keep us guessing as to outcomes the new environment will bring and here new or old or unknowns characters can appear. she suggested a girl rides into town on a horse with another horse pack animal shes wounded and they find shes from the town but forgotten about first night when buses brought them back she went home took two horses from stables next morning rode off now returned bring proof of life outside the town
