Man I really wanted this to be good but I found myself getting constantly frustrated throughout the movie. If you had given me a couple of hours and almost zero pay I could have come up with a better script than what you see on screen.
I heard rumours of the script being bad but yet I was still excited to see some good old fashion matrix-style action; the kind that really changed Hollywood movies forever. But instead, what we got had no matrix-like qualities whatsoever let alone it being ground-breaking for the new generation.
The martial arts itself was so poorly choreographed it's obvious that it was a lacklustre effort... it was just so simple and unbelievable. At times you could even see that no real force was present and Neo had just touched the person instead of hit.
Add to it, the editing is by far the worse I've seen. I am a big fan of shows such as Daredevil because they don't have choppy scenes when it comes to fighting and allow you to see the full motion and range of movement taking place in front of you without cuts and from one perspective throughout the whole way. But this movie, like Snake Eyes which came out earlier in the year, has so many cuts in it you can barely see what is going on. I mean let me see a punch hit its mark from one angle, why do I need to see it from 16 different angles before it even hits its mark??! Did the punch even land where it was supposed to? I have no idea!
I'm sorry to say this, but this is by far the worse matrix movie ever made. This actually feels like a parody but I've seen more effort and better visuals/fight scenes on fan-made movies.
