I grew up playing Spyro on the Playstation back in the 1990's and I fell in love with nearly every game that ever came out. The Reignited trilogy looks amazing with the art style and updated graphics. However, there are some changes that bug the heck out of me and make the game much more challenging than necessary.
When it comes to the graphics everything looks amazing. But with this, now it's so much harder to get to certain platforms and dying becomes much more frequent than the original game. When you try to fly to a far off platform that you KNOW you can make in the original game, it cuts you short in the Reignited game because of an added texture and you barely miss it. I have memorized all of the Spyro games because I played them constantly over and over and over again and those platforms would not usually this difficult to get to.
Another issue I have is with the flight levels. The control with trying to move Spyro up is delayed. It takes an additional 1 to 2 seconds to actually go up and you end up hitting a wall or other obstacles which cancels your flying and puts you in water. Sometimes you can catch yourself and start flying again, but 9 out of 10 times it doesn't and you have to start over again.
The last issue I have is the camera. If you start charging or jump to start flying and then turn suddenly, the camera jerks behind you to "reposition" itself and throws you off course. It's done this to me several times in a few levels as I'm trying to jump around a wall to a platform and it kills me or nearly kills me EVERY TIME. It's really frustrating to compensate with as compared to the original games.
Aside from those issues that I have personally faced, I still love it as a Spyro game. Those games still hold a special place in my heart that will never fade. Now if they would just go back and completely fix "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly" and the mess of a game it is.
