I am giving the film 2 stars mainly because the idea/premise of the film is an interesting concept, and some of the effects are decent for those who like horror. However, this movie was painful to watch. Most of the characters are despicable, which I argue takes away from the impact the film could have. There's no one to root for. Moreover, the scene with the cat does not make sense. Most people who struggle with bipolar I or II pose no threat to other people. But the main character suddenly has this inclination to murder a cat? Yes, movies often require the audience to suspend belief--fantastical events can happen. However, there's no reason why the main character gets away with everything in the end.
