Great movie. Underrated and misunderstood. It wasn't about the aliens, it was how a higher power exists that cares about our wellbeing. People fail to see the aliens didn't come to take over but harvest humans as though they were demons taking people to hell. Likely for food or maybe they need creatures with higher brain functions for some weird alien science reason. The ending was about faith, not beating aliens with human ingenuity and grit. Same force that helped humans beat them likely also is the cause why they didn't realize freshwater/filtered/treated/whatever was poison to them until too late.
