I wish there was a 3.5 Star option, so I just rounded up. Overall, a really funny and satire movie. The message was good but the message was presented extremely poorly. The movie was a commentary on politicians and media acting on their own interests in opposition to a clear crisis presented by scientists. The thing this movie does, however, is make everyone who has a slight ounce of criticism to the movie a “science denier” and in the movie itself, it makes the general public seem absolutely oblivious to what’s going on and acts like no ordinary people in the world would do anything until it was too late. The movie also associates science with politics, saying anyone who hesitated to listen to science is stupid and on the “wrong” political side while everyone who immediately follows the science are geniuses that hail from the “right” side of politics. When objective science mixes with subjective politics, nothing comes of it, and the makers of this movie understood that. But in doing so, they displayed themselves as the “good” side which only taints the science more.
