Yang Yangs

The last conversation on this movie is what it is all about. “ what do you want from me” —Harper “love”—James. Violence and oppression doesn’t stop patriarchy. ( Harper kept killing the men but they kept being reborn) Love, respect and mutual understanding do. ( in the end when she just sat down and have a talk cause she is tired ). Under patriarchy we are all victim. Men do crazy things but I the end, they just need to be loved. Any type of power imbalance creates sadness for everyone. And for the feminists (myself included), we need to learn from the lesson and don’t become an oppressor ourselves too.

I found it extremely hard to develop any connections with the overtly animated characters. Plot seems forced, seems like it was developed in the boardroom with tons of old people pitching “what are the problems of teenagers nowadays? Oh! Let’s throw in some abortions!” not realistic enough for teenage problems. 13 Reasons Why was much more realistic and believable.
