Far far better than the reviews indicate. I really enjoyed it.

Sepidah Moafi (the woman playing the role of Lauren McCauley) CANNOT ACT TO SAVE HER LIFE. The most unrealistic and over-the-top garbage I've seen in years. Almost becomes a parody. Laughable.
Its like a hurried script written by a few Grade 7 boys forced to do some creative writing over lunch time because they've been banned from the playground.
Obviously the scenes with Ray Liotta and Greg Kinnear raise the acting standard. But you can’t expect one or two good actors to carry several others.
This could have been concentrated into a 120 min movie as opposed to a slow and laborious 360 mins.

This exact same film has been made over and over again for over 50 years. It’s predictable, cheesy, and lacks a single original idea, thought, and feature. It’s aimed for 12 or 13 year old boys.

I was watching this whilst slow cooking some rice. I found the little bubbles in the pot more interesting. The main girl is extremely beautiful, but that asides ... there's nothing good about this film.

Absolutely hilarious. Outstanding. So lucky that it was made before snowflake culture ruined comedy.

This is one of those films whereby consistently poor decisions by the main character are required in order to drive the plot forward.
In addition to this, the movie is extremely predictable. A blind man can see what's going to happen next.

It also presents (as per usual) the Americans as the good guys/heroes and Arabs as the evil enemy. Even when there a major oversight in justice it all seems to be acceptable and forgivable so long as the Americans are free, and the foreigners locked up.
I'll give it two stars because the production quality was modern and crisp.

The entire film hangs on the (admittedly outstanding) beauty of the main actress Amber Heard.
Everything else was completely pointless and rubbish. Just like the original Amis novel.
I'm giving it three stars solely for Amber Heard's 10/10 looks.

Masterpiece. Artistically light years ahead of its time. Genius.

The main characters are hilariously naive and delusional. One of the funniest films I've ever watched, and in my top ten favourite movies ever. Superb.
5/5.

Possibly one of the most talented casts I've ever seen. Completely wasted in this daft film.
