Incredible performances by both Ed Morton and Timothee Chalamet. Most affecting movie I’ve seen in years.

After 6 episodes (out of a total of 8), CONSTELLATION, that stars Noomi Rapace (who has been terrific in everything I’ve seen her in) as an astronaut who survives (or doesn’t) a catastrophe while aboard the ISS, only to return (or not) to an Earth life that is confoundingly similar but not identical to the one she left. By the end of episode 6, it seems that there are at least a couple of other astronauts that are experiencing similar things. I don’t know how this ends (slippage between alternate parallel universes ?), but so far it is fascinating. 5 stars.

Great cast. Interesting genre mashup of sci-fi and two dueling Wyoming ranching families. The first episode was filmed mostly at night and so was so dark that I couldn’t see much in several scenes. The second was a bit better but still looks like someone forgot to pay the electric bill. The McGuffin is a mysterious 50 foot diameter bottomless hole that appears one day on Abbott farm. Very handy for disappearing unwanted items. Josh Brolin is the patriarch of the Abbotts and is gruff and grunts a lot. Great casting. Let’s see there this takes us, but so far, so good and very mysterious.

Early Quentin Tarantino (writer/actor). Bloody as all get out. Stellar cast. Silly but very enjoyable and a hell of a twist about 2/3 if the way through.

Fantastic finale to the FIRST Avengers epoch epic.

This is exactly the kind of Netflix series that I am programmed to like. I like the premise, the “mystery “ in the first 2 episodes, most of the cast, and the direction. But the kid is the worst child actor I have ever seen. He’s awful. So bad I cannot continue watching. 2 episodes and I’m out. Too bad.
