I love Arthurian legend. I love artistic films. I love Cinema that makes you think. I seriously disliked this film. I got the imagery and the subtext. I'm familiar with the epic poem and the lore. The story plodded along with pointless artistic detours and cinematic shots that felt forced and laborious. I didn't need this to be Braveheart, just tell an engaging story. So many aspects of this film were "left up to the interpretation of the viewer" that it lost all substantial meaning and frequently was epically boring. Seriously mind numbingly boring! I could hear a film professor saying "We're going to pause here and discuss what we just watched. Is anyone awake?"
It's not that I didn't "get it", I got it, It was just torturously spoon fed to me.
