If you're expecting a fun film for all the family, this isn't it. The story feels thrown together, the characters are all lacking in any real personality. The songs are usually my favourite part of any Disney movie but the songs in Wish are far too complicated for any child to really grasp whats going on and seconds after watching I couldn't tell you the words to any of them. No sign of the catchy memorable songs of other Disney classics. My toddler watched on and off, my 9yr old who usually loves Disney asked if he could stop watching after 20mins. This could have been such an amazing Disney magic origins story but it fell short in every way.

I was a little excited to see a real action Little Mermaid movie, especially with some of the cast members being part of some successful movies in the not so distant past so was expecting good things. I could not have been more wrong. Very low budget feel, acting wasn't great, and the storyline was non existent! So this girl Elle is supposed to have the "heart of a mermaid" whatever the hell that means, and for some reason this gives her asthma? You spend the whole movie waiting for that little plot line to figure itself out and to finally understand what they've been banging on about the whole movie and then it ends with her being magically cured by "going for a swim". Elizabeth is the only character with any kind of backstory but then they totally ignore it with the ending when she seems to find true love with Cam then doesn't get to keep her legs as promised in the beginning. Also why has fortune teller girl and dog boy never escaped before when it turns out she can stop time and he does pretty well in a fight? It makes zero sense, we see almost nothing from either of these characters until the end, it felt like the writer couldn't think of a way for Elizabeth and Cam to escape and added them as an afterthought. I don't usually bother to write reviews on these things but if I can save anyone else losing an hour and a half of their lives to this tripe it will be worth it!
