The simplest way to sum up this movie is that it’s built for young children and ONLY young children.
The poor plot and the ridiculous, unrounded characters paired with cringy (and overly numerous) songs make this a fit for about ages 2-8 and I wouldn’t push it past that. While movies like Coco or Shrek succeed in creating something enjoyable and meaningful for a range of ages, Over the Moon does not.
Good movie to plop the kids in front of on a rainy day. Not a whole lot else to say.
