It would really help if those who write reviews are able to distinguish between different series made by different channels - this one on the BBC and then the Netflix series. It was unfortunate that Netflix refused to change their title to avoid such confusion, but nonetheless it cannot be that difficult to recognise that this has a predominantly British cast and the Netflix series is a mix of American and British actors. Personally, I enjoyed both, although I thought the Netflix series edged it. Neither was perfect but generally entertaining fare. It seems that some people don’t want to accept that a woman might be the senior diplomat and do it well; what a shame. If you enjoyed one, or both, of The Diplomat series, I would also recommend the Secret City series one on Netflix set in Canberra - more complex and shows how such a political thriller can be taken to another level.
