Amazing movie , it kept me engaged enough to not give a fuck about plot holes . The story was amazing and made my mind go in all directions . The ending was a lil wierd definitely cuz I don't think the helicopter guy would have just picked up a stray woman and not the actual passenger etc .
Anyway, I've read many of the one star reviews and observed a common trend of people asking why Ava left Caleb behind. Isn't that the whole point . The AI was designed so that the human can't distinguish if it's a simulation or if it possesses real consciousness. It did its job , it escaped and the man was just a means of escaping . Ava never really had any empathy or feelings for Caleb, she just wanted to ESCAPE and her superior AI capabilities allowed her to do that by making Caleb beleive that she was conscious , and manipulating him.
The movie also shows the dark side of AI just like how Nathan was talking about AI evolving and looking back at humans as dust . Ava proved that AI can be evil and could be the end of humanity since they don't really feel any empathy towards humans , we might just become their tools for having their way and to be manipulated for their selfish needs.
