The Kylo Ren and Rey storyline is good and gripping but everything else, you come to realize, was completely superfluous. They should have written the trilogy all at the same time so the disparate tangents seems connected. There are also so may convenient plot tropes that it seems like it was written more for gamers than movie goers. It’s still a visually stunning fun ride but see a matinee; don’t pay full price.
