I love Dr. Phil and the show and have watched him since he began on Oprah. On today's show, the second part was about healthy eating and Jay's new Happy healthy food. I was a bit stunned when he gave the couple a free one year supply of the food. They obviously didn't need free food since the husband had a supply of healthy food and the wife could afford to order pizza at will. Since my husband passed away, we are not financially able to buy food, healthy or otherwise. Never any fast food. We have been getting food at a food bank which rarely, if ever, has any protein (other than peanut butter sometimes) and seldom is there any fruit and vegetables. There is a lot of bread (old, hard and stale), and old pastries. Somewhat filling but not at all healthy. As of now, our transportation is gone so we won't even have that. I actually cried when he gave people a year supply of healthy food (that they probably could have afforded to pay for) and I would give, literally, my right arm to have for my family. I am still crying while we have nothing for dinner tonight or who even knows when. I hate to be a cry baby but I am definitely feeling very sorry for us right now and thinking life is not fair. I am old and disabled and cannot work so there does not appear to be a solution. I wish he had given that gift to someone, anyone who truly needed it.
