SPOILERS:
Pros:
1.Great animation and color
2. Lots of homages to underused characters
3. We finally learn the secrets of Castle Grayskull
4. Clever puns and one liners
5. There is real battle
Cons:
1. It's a bait-and-switch
2. He-Man and Skeletor are killed off in episode 1
3. Skeletor is a silly clown of a villain, complete with "Joker" voice
4. The show is really about the angry lesbian, Teela and her gal pals.
As I feared from the online rumblings, it's about the very mannish looking Teela, who is able to single-handedly beat up a dozen guys at once, and her girlfriend. I thought Skeletor would kill the Sorceress and Teela would finally take her place, but instead, she takes He-Man's place!!! The first episode is incredible, and fans will be pleased, but after that, it nosedives into a man-hating ditch. Why can't guys have anything anymore? Everything has to be "woke." He-Man was made for little boys who are now men in their forties. There are countless shows just for girls and women. There was no need to hijack our long-waited for show. It would be like or ordering a cheeseburger and getting a bun stuffed with lettuce.
If you aren't a He-Man fan, you might enjoy the show, because the animation is incredible and the story is actually pretty good. If you were expecting to see He-Man star in his own show, you will be disappointed. There is no meat in this burger, only lettuce. :(
