Edit: I've taken time out of my day to read the one star reviews and I cannot believe I have to say this but this is obviously not a Disney movie and most of the bad reviews are by men so...that alone should persuade you to watch it. MINOR SPOILERS It was funny, visually stunning, and I cried. A lot. There where scenes like when Barbie sat at the bus station with the old woman and when Barbie realizes that she was there for Gloria and not Gloria's daughter that took my breath away and the kens near the end that had me laughing for like 20 minutes straight, I'll be seeing this again in theaters. Women, please do yourself a favor and see this movie

It's a classic in so many ways. While it is a children's show, the world building, fight scenes, the lore, and the characters journey to their final forms make it more than that.

I'm 100% sure the one star reviews are from people who watched it with their eyes closed and fingers in their ears. Halle Bailey is an amazing singer, her rendition of part of your world reprise gave me chills. Melissa McCarthy bodies Ursula. The father did feel a little flat but the music made me want to dance, especially under the sea (which was colorful and fun, having fish that remind me of folkloric dancers). The storyline is also pretty close to the original, adding one or two things that the close minded audiences tried very hard to ignore. If you're expecting it to be exactly like the first one, don't see it. That is a completely unrealistic expectation. If you, however, are a competent adult who understands some things might be different and love a good Caribbean beat, see it.

When you watch it, it’s better to note the homages or direct links it gives to ALTA but it’s it’s own separate show which people seem to forget. Korra has by far the best development going from hot headed to a great avatar. A really great show with beautiful animations and a good cry every once in awhile
