Nick clearly was the Masterchief. His imagination and creativity for food made him wild beyond the competitors. I hated the one episode that Joe said what alcohol are you going to use for this desert and he said champagne. Then Joe said ok and later told him NOBODY uses champagne. What's the point of a mentor if you can't mentor. Masterchief 10 recognized a wonderful individual but it just wasn't enough to elevate someone for Southern food when Nick was bringing it to a whole level. Nick goes through what every chief deals with is a bad serving. But it doesn't make them bad. In that one season you stopped anyone else wanting to elevate food to a Masterchief level. What a shame.
