It's been a long time since I've watched a coming of age film where the whole cast wouldn't be shown smoking a couple of cigarettes each per scene. I'm a 25 year old B.Tech graduate, my collegemates used to smoke but not like that's the only thing people do. This is a much realistic portrayal of village guys, they drink occasionally but rarely do smoke due to the stigma.
The setup seems natural, It's been a long since I was immersed into the fictional setting of the film. Although not having a star-studded cast, the acting and performances are topnotch. Sound design and songs are a pillar that carries the movie without it itself getting to forefront, that's how well they have integrated the songs.
The conflict point in the movie is a bold choice by the director knowing the character of it and possibility of getting massive backlash if the execution lacked even by a bit.
I felt sorry for myself for not watching this movie in the cinemas
