Awesome to see how there were able to explore the complexity of the male male relationship in a time where partnership choices could be a life or death issue. It was refreshing to know that this could be done without implying that there was a Broke Back Butt poking type of thing was going on and the two men could have a deep meaningful relationship without bending over and taking one up the rear. The scenery and regional aspect of the film was spectacular and the time setting was authentic.
