The best cartoon of all time, maybe even the best series of all time, Avatar manages to entertain a younger audience with goofy, slapstick comedy, while appealing to people of all ages with complex characters, meaningful relationships between them, and large-scale world building.

when you watch the first season, it'll seem like, well, a kids show. but I promise, it only gets better as you go along. there's not much i can say without spoiling things, but watch the show and you won't be disappointed.
INCLUDES SPOILERS:
Zuko's transformation between the definite villain to a main protagonist, Aang's struggle dealing with the fact that he'll have to kill the firelord, Sokka's humbling, Azula's loss of sanity and much more contribute to interesting, and even heart wrenching, tear dropping character arcs.
SUMMARY:
It might seem like I'm being dramatic, but I really mean this. The show is masterful in the way it manages to make you so deeply care it's characters and take you to all corners of the Avatar world. You can be 9, you can be 30, you will still enjoy Avatar.
