Not a fan. This was a one and done for me. I was really looking forward for this. I love Jane Austen but this was a total letdown. You don’t really have anything to love about Ann as you do in other adaptations. She’s self absorbed and spends most of the film drinking. She is a really awkward character throughout the film that lacks emotion and purpose. There are a lot of crass/crude references throughout the entire film that really take away from the original story. The original story is changed many times and they use a lot of modern references and language that don’t fit the time frame.

Not appropriate for kids. Opening minutes have 11 year old taking pictures of friends and plastering their faces on women in bikinis and lingerie and texting them to everyone in the school. Constant talk of butts, butt thongs, penises. Overdone focus on potty training - a book dedicated to it that goes wrong telling every kid to take a dump anywhere that is read to lots of kids, naked kid on the potty, baby peeing all over the floor, kids in their bath towels or naked in the bathroom, etc. We didn’t even finish so I’m sure there is more but the parents guide we should have read first mentions later on that male strippers are later hired for the kid’s birthday on accident, teens making out after prom, getting high off of cough syrup, etc.

This was a one and done for our family. Super disappointing. I wish I would have screened it before my kids saw it. It is NOT a children’s movie. Most of it was extremely inappropriate and offensive. It was too mature for most children - unless you’re ready to fully explain periods, tampons, pads, their “flowers”, innuendos, “stripper music” and “sexy pictures” that dominate the film to your children. Values of family, responsibility, honesty, integrity and trust are made fun of and viewed negatively. The film makes it seem that you can’t be who are meant to be and still have these values. A point was made of not worshipping God, although I can appreciate personal or cultural differences. I don’t appreciate however, OMG constantly throughout the movie that is offensive to those who do believe in God. Mother’s are made out to be monsters figuratively and quite literally throughout the film that just “brainwash” and hurt their daughters and keep them from being who they want to be. I’m shocked this is a Disney - it’s the worst “children’s movie” they have ever made. A lot of the material was crude and crass. Most of it was stupid or had themes that were not fit for children. Would not recommend to anyone and would give negative stars if I could.

We really loved the original and were excited to see the second. But this was the stupidest movie we have ever seen. It was nothing like the first. The characters were different. The general feel was different. This was just every stupid imaginable thing crammed into one movie. This was a one and done for our family that we will never watch again. Super inappropriate for children/not family friendly and a complete disappointment. Don’t waste your time or money on this one.
