I started off thinking I just wasn’t going to like this film until it pulled me in. I love the focus on his musical talent. Carey Mulligan was so awesome. On a personal note, I love Bradley Cooper’s films but as a Dallas Cowboys fan, I obviously don’t like him. I very recently saw the Howard Stern interview and when asked if he would choose an Oscar for himself or the Philadelphia eagles winning the Super Bowl. He chose the eagles. He may have shot himself in the foot. We’ll see if the Academy will oblige with his wish!! 🫤

I read the novel by David Grann and found it difficult to put it down. With the phenomenal cast and Mr Scorsese’s brilliant direction, it stayed true to the book and history. I get why it was so long because I felt nothing could be left out of this intriguing story. It was a love story as well. The one thing I walked out wondering about was the ending until I googled it and would advise anyone to do the same. It’s the proverbial cherry on top!

My parents took us to the drive in theater for this, but we were very young and usually fell asleep soon after the film started. Our drive in had a play ground so they were betting on it. For some reason I watched the entire thing and never forgot it even though I could not have understood it. I watched it again recently and realize why it had such a profound impact on my memory. The acting. The era. The screenplay. It really does beg the question, they shoot horses, don’t they?

I liked the fast pace of the beginning and then putting the pieces together, but after the chase to hit everyone on the list I got bored. Frankly, it felt as if I were watching my grandson playing a video game. If you want a good revenge film, 22 Bullets staring the great Jean Reno is good.

I never write reviews....but I watch a lot of films. This, imo is Baz Lehrmann’s masterpiece! Austin Butler looks, sings, speaks and embodies Elvis to perfection. Tom Hanks was, as usual great! I’ve read some awful remarks about his role but I trust he’s done his research! He’s Tom Hanks.😳I also, absolutely love the homage paid to Big Mama Thornton, B B King, Little Richard and Beale Street. Good on Baz Lehrmann for this amazing script and recognizing the obvious! I learned a lot about Elvis. But it was obvious he and Col Parker were co dependent. The best thing about this film was I forgot I wasn’t watching Elvis. I can’t say enough good things about Austin Butler. He became ELVIS for me, if only for 2hrs 40mins.... and dare I say? Oscars all around🌟

Although the premise was fiction, the question of what happens to us when we die gave me a real perspective. We are just a drop in a ocean. We are energy that never dies....

I LOVE Steve Martin! I love his humor, his novels, his films, etc! Martin Short is cast perfectly as the broke theater director and Selena Gomez shines as well. I haven’t watched it all but so far it’s amazing! I’m glad it’s finally here.

It was, for me a Grapes of Wrath for 2020. What is happening to our country? Older folks don’t want to give up their independence but that’s exactly what we’re having to do! I actually started looking up this way of life! I don’t love living with my daughter and her family.

I’m glad I found this film. Great character study of a modern day “Mr Goodbar”
