I’m not going to try and sound like I’m being paid to write a review. I’m just going to give it to you straight. The season did have a good start, showing us multiple timelines and another likable detective duo. That being said, there ended up being no real significance to the multiple timelines and there’s no real progression throughout the show to resolve the case. As in, not enough to really keep us invested in the case. What’s more, is that the whole season is only about the disappearance of a missing girl, and the show focuses perhaps too much on the current timeline. It’s “True Detective,” not Old Detective. Definitely my least favorite season despite some good performances. This has “style over substance” written all over it.
