“The Passion Of The Christ”, 2004. Rated R *****
Mel Gibson did one of the greatest things in his film and acting career to bring this poignant and brutally realistic depiction of the Passion of Christ, the last day of his life on earth and the end of His earthly mission.
The Roman manner of death saved for the worst of society was brutal and was designed to bring you to the point of wishing for the sweetness of death to end all of the pain and torture.
This film depicted that brutality that was inflicted upon the life and body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Kudos to Mr. Gibson for accurately and completely depicting this story, for it is through this accurate depiction that it brought more meaning to me in the sacrifice that Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, gave to me and everyone of this world who has or will ever have lived, the chance for Eternal Life in the presence of God!
Thank You for the gift of Salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ. For a long time I thought I knew what it all meant to me, yeah, I was saved from going to Hell, but the full realization of what was given to me by my profession of faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior did not impact me until I dug deeper and deeper into the Scriptures, studied the life of my savior and the lives of the apostles and got a pretty good idea of the magnitude of what was done to give me the greatest gift ever, Eternal Life in the presence of God!
It was this movie “The Passion of The Christ”, the English Version, that put reality into the depth of the pain and suffering that my Lord Jesus went through to fulfill His Father’s will. It gave me new passion to my own further study and dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The movie is superb in covering the final hours of the life of Jesus Christ, and every time He was struck, every tear of the flesh, it was so real that I seemed to have felt the pain that he bore for me and the whole world, and yet he never uttered a word in his defense. He was doing Father God's will, it had to be done in order to save mankind from it's own depravity. A movie that fully impacted my life forever!
Thank You Mel Gibson!
