This is officially my favorite book of all time. This is such a beautifully compelling story that spans over 50 years, yet it flew by in the blink of an eye. I found myself being restrictive in how much I read in one sitting, because I wanted it to last as long as I could. Chloe Benjamin's style of prose is so authentic without being pretentious - I was shocked to learn she was only 29 when this was published. The characters in this book are so diverse and incredibly dimensional. I found myself sobbing at the ends of Simon and Klara's parts. The relationship that each character has with their lives/fate is so captivating, and I found myself understanding more about my life from each part. The storytelling is so compelling - I became so invested in the characters despite all of their flaws ( and there were a lot) which is why I love Benjamin's writing style. She made these character so compelling despite being unbelievably ordinary - and each character had many flaws that made them far from perfect. This is Benjamin's masterpiece.
