Watched #Monster : the Jefferey #Dahmer story!
Very disturbing and thought provoking story. Brilliantly acted and the 6th episode from the pov of the victim is a masterpiece.
It sheds light on the circumstances and the broken law enforcement and judicial system which was/ is so rampantly racist that a killer could keep killing and cooking his victims even after several complaints!
There is a debate going in America on these shows which consciously / unconsciously glorify the serial killers so much so that they become celebrities and profit off their crimes. It’s disgusting really but the truth is that we are a part of the problem . If we keep consuming these shows obviously they will keep being made.
However, this show doesn’t glorify his crimes and show the perverse man for who he is while also balancing the stories of his childhood and parents.
It also throws welcome light on the victim families and that of the neighbor who had to endure that foul smell for over a year!
However, the victim’s families have given interviews that they were not consulted before releasing the show and it must be awful for them to go through the trauma every time a new adaption of this psycho comes out - I think this is the 4th Hollywood adaptation in 20 years and another show called confessions of killer - Jeffrey Dahmer is gonna hit screns soon.
Also,
It is unbelievable how many people turn a blind eye to victims if they don’t ‘matter’ according to societal standards.
