In Exodus 24 Hur is mentioned; a friend of Moses. Lew Wallace may have created his fictional character Judah Ben-Hur to be a descendant of Hur. Judah Ben-Hur's character was a prince living in Judea when Rome ruled the then known world. Judah Ben Hur means, praise son of liberty. Ben-Hur is quite simply one of the best films about Christ ever made. And if you don't see Jesus Christ throughout this entire film then you are just not looking.
