Shakespeare has given us a clever and well-written play and a true testament to the longevity of his works. I saw a performance of it and marvelled that even a contemporary audience can still find the hilarity of something written over four centuries ago. There are so many ways one can interpret the characters of the pair of twins. The dynamism and dramatic irony that Shakespeare expertly weaves into his writing remains as always magnificent in execution and meaning. This is why Comedy of Errors remains my favourite Shakespearean work of all time. If I HAD to critique something, it would be a slight lack of innuendo to fit the continuity of this comedy. Apart from this, it is perfect. Truly something playwrights of this age should take after.
