This is not a warm and fuzzy movie but has a profound message. The acting and directing are outstanding. Glenn Close and Amy Adams are superior. There is a profound message to be learned from this story. Yes there are flashbacks which illustrate how our lives events and interactions impact who we become and/or choose to become.
