It's not Star Trek at all. Everything is just so wrong about this show. The ship isn't a starship, it's more like this massive playhouse thing. Every room is built like a stage. They are dancing in crew quarters? The crew isn't connected to the ship at all. This isn't a group of astronauts boldy going into space in their cozy little tin can. These people are rocking it out in this huge, sparkly clean, glassy penthouse luxury liner that looks like it was built for celebrities. Spock isn't an alien at all, he's like a slightly serious quirky guy that's popular with the ladies because he's "cute"? The captain is a total joke. What drives him? Why do people respect him? What makes him stand out? None of this is fleshed out. Romantic relationships everywhere. Couples being sent down on away missions?? Nobody is proud of what they are doing and nobody is focused on the primary role of starfleet, ie seeking out new life and boldy seeking the unknown. The show is just an outlet for clever Gen Z writers to play with a crew of "space buddies just trying to have fun safely in space". Episode after episode of crew members apparently not busy at all with anything duty related. No crew rotations. No crew evals, or promotions. Nobody climbing ranks. Everybody just seems to have tons of energy and everybody's super chatty and good humored and obsessed with everything BUT their role as a member of starfleet, and it's just so wrong, boring, and unrealistic. It can be what it actually is and be a good show, but don't call it Star Trek. This is not Star Trek!

It was pretty good. Not as great as the first film, obviously. Denzel was NOT the right actor for this film. He doesn't really portray a believable character. He's too confident and in control the entire movie; just doesn't play a good antagonist. Good fight scenes. The flooded colosseum boat battle was out there but pretty entertaining. I liked how girly, spoiled and childish the two emperors were. Their makeup was way over the top though. No language and no raunchy secs scenes was a nice touch that I appreciated. The ending was pretty bad and not well thought out if you ask me. I wonder what Glad3 will look like?

It was great. Not for everyone admittedly. If the trailer looks good, go watch it. Loud motors, outrageous costumes and cultures, women being treated like cattle, weird characters, insane and inventive chase scenes literally almost the entire time, etc. It never goes over the top on any one facet, which I love. No nudie love scenes, no outrageous gore, no gritty clench your teeth kinda moments, no mushy lovey dovey romance, and NO forced comedy. None! It does a great job at telling a story and taking you on a wild ride in a lawless future full of selfish, brutal, desperate human beings trying to survive with next to nothing. And the acting was spot on. Amazing movie.

I didn't really care for the film. They spent way too much time trying to tear jerk when they should have been blasting baddies. And they were shooting bad guys the whole time, but spared certain ones here and there because "We are the guardians of the galaxy". The big f-bomb wasn't necessary. Quill was way too emotional. They were trying to label everybody the whole time: "You aren't a destroyer. You were born to be a dad." Puke. Comeon, it's a superhero movie. Gillan gained a bunch of weight, so she didn't even look like a superhero anymore. This wasn't the movie I expected to see.

A decent movie, but the neverending torrent of cheesy scenes and cliche closeups just ruins the movie and kills any chance of it being taken seriously. The costumes, character intros, random explosions, the water suits and weapons worn by the Atlantians, Mantis’s custom suit, “OCEANMASTER”... just all so cheesy.
