I loved the first season, but was very disappointed by the change of character to the programme by the introduction of all the mutant creatures in season 2. I was still hugely disappointed by its sudden demise, though, and frustrated it was not allowed enough warning to tie it up properly. On seeing re-runs a couple of years ago, I was surprised how much I liked season 2 as well, presumably because I expected the change and just rode with it.

I found this film mesmerising and intriguing. What a pity more film-makers don't have the courage to treat their audience like grown-ups who welcome something outside the formula, taking time to absorb the atmosphere and contemplate an original concept.
