What a disappointment! Despite the beautiful setting of Italy, this film could not be more boring and disengaging. The main character, Lina, was personally not someone that I felt that I could sympathise with, or root for; she was, for the most part, just very, VERY annoying and not played well by the actress unfortunately. On the whole, this film had some nice parts I guess, like the setting, but it somehow managed to seem too fast paced, yet incredibly slow at the same time. I’ve actually ended up watching this film in about 4 ish parts, as the main character is that annoying, and the plot so uninteresting that it is genuinely very tough to get through. I can’t speak for the book as I have not read it, but it wouldn’t take a lot for it to top it’s film adaptation. Overall, it’s definitely one of the most lacklustre rom-com films Netflix has released in recent years, possibly the worst.
