I thought this was an awesome movie! My girlfriend has never really been interested or known about Mortal Kombat, but she also enjoyed it. I do have to say though, there is a lot more that could be done with this. Visually it's stunning and very well choreographed. It seems like this might be better developed into a show. There's too much story behind these characters to give them 5 seconds of screen time. SPOILER! ... Reptile died in like two seconds.... as an avid player since the 90's that really bummed me out. There's a bunch of characters that need a lot of development and a show might do it more justice. Still an awesome movie though! Hearing "Get over here!" was badass.
