Elex is a game that must be played with patience. I found the progression system spot on to what I was hoping for. You start off the game with barely any resources. You spend a lot of the first 10 levels running or jet packing away from everything but the weakest enemies. It's ok though, because there are dozens of missions to take on as you become stronger and wiser and most importantly become a part of the world. Deciding on a faction became my middle game goal and it really became hard to decide. I liked them all. Elex has a fantastic sci-fy story and the side quests are well thought out mini stories that add to the lore. If you don't have 60-100+ hrs dedicated to the game I would recommend passing on it. If you do have the time then be prepared for an interesting, weird journey. Elex reminds me of the midnight B-movie cult classics that I love so much. This game certainly isn't for everybody but if you give it a chance, you might find yourself having a hard time putting the controller down.
