As far as live-action adaptions go of very known game franchises, Mortal Kombat lives up to its namesake. Obviously you need to go into it knowing that it'll never be 100% game accurate but between them incorporating kombat moves actually displayed throughout the games, they've done a great job. I really enjoyed the fight scenes between Scorpion and Sub-Zero (Both beginning and end), as well as the interactions between Sonya Blade and Kano. Pacing was great, action sequences were fantastic, character development was there for most but definitely need to see a bit more if a sequel is given. I will say I took issue with Milenna and it was strictly surrounding her mouth. I wish we got more of the Tarkatan game accurate one. I also took a slight issue with the character of Cole Young, who I honestly feel like the film didn't need and could've been told without him. Overall though, Mortal Kombat is a very solid very interesting film. I feel it deserves at least 2 sequels to expand the story and really flush out the lore of the games and give the fans the live action extravaganza they deserve.

Demi Lovato deserves nothing but praise and acclaim for this absolute masterpiece. As someone who can relate to her and her music a lot, as I've battled eating disorders, have multiple mental health issues and even past suicide attempts, I couldn't have worded the experience and emotions any better myself. I was brought to the tears by multiple tracks, even Melon Cake, which sounds funny since it's probably one of the more uplifted tracks of the bunch but this whole album truthfully destroyed me in the best way possible. Demi is at the peak of her career, this is her best work yet, this has quickly become one of my all-time favourite albums in the matter of a day. She really is a voice for people who have lived through the same experiences that she did and are still going through them. I cannot express my gratitude for her vulnerability enough with this one. Absolutely incredible.

I'm going to be real honest with this when I say it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. At times Mulan feels like there's almost no screenplay (Dialogue) between the characters half the time and what is exchanged seems superbly forced. Action sequence wise though and the way certain scenes were filmed in particular were superbly compelling. As beautiful as the scenery was in the movie as well it also felt really lackluster. And yes, this is a more realistic take on the Mulan story, but if they included the phoenix and featured it a lot within the story I don't personally see why they couldn't switch that around and make them worship a Dragon, paying homage to Mushu. The actors did an incredibly job with what they were given for the most part, but ultimately aside from the really intriguing action sequences the movie fell flat. Solid 7/10.
