Absolute garbage show. Bad representation of French culture, perfect representation of the “American Exceptionalism” mindset. American girl, who doesn’t speak French, goes to france to show them how being American is better (and despite maybe trying to show how this is wrong, they still make her the hero by making it always work for her). Not to mention all the characters are terrible and it features an American woman having sex w a teenager. Which is illegal in about half of the US, but I guess its “funny”. I don’t think it’s going too far when I say adults who enjoyed this show should feel bad about themselves.

It started off well, an interesting enough plot although a lot of the acting was questionable. Quickly the plot took a turn and was just completely unrealistic. Of course it’s supposed to be alt-history so it’s not supposed to reflect real history, but the storyline they were pushing just made the entire series hold an immature and ridiculous tone. You don’t deal with homophobia and racism in the 40s and have so many characters who just decided they were okay with it all the sudden. It was just really unrealistic how everything just happened to workout for the characters time and time again. I completely agree with the Rotten Tomatoes reviews of this, well intentioned but completely ridiculous execution
